Admission

Our school has two (2) terms and one (1) midterm per term.
First term starts from January to June, and its Midterm is on March, and the Second term starts on July to December, with a midterm on September.

Enrollment for students who are between Nursery and Grade 6 takes place at the begging of every term and midterms, ie. January, April, July, September.

For Grade 7 enrollment is in January only.

Enquiries on admission can be made at anytime

For prospective students, from Grade 1 to 7, an interview must be taken before enrollement. The interview aims at determining the academic level of pupil.

School vision:

Our strong vision is To be the Best and most popular and professional educational institution in Tanzania’. As part of our effort to achieve this vision we have already started effort to improve our physical and human infrastructure so that we can be competitive in this fast advancing technological world.
School Motto:

The school motto is ‘.......Veritas Vos Liberos Faciet.........‘..The Truth Shall Make You Free.....’ .‘....Ukweli Utakuweka Huru.....’(Kiswahili).

School Mission:
A Mission Statement is a declaration of organization’s fundamental purpose of existence. It briefly defines the organization core business, its strategic aims and objectives. Our Mission is therefore to offer ‘Quality and Affordable Education for All. VERITAS aims at producing technologically vibrant, morally responsible, well disciplined and enlightened future ‘citizens’ of the world.

Based on the above vision, motto and mission, the broad objectives for establishing VERITAS school  are as follows:
To reduce shortage of high quality and affordable nursery and primary education in the country.

  • To stabilize gender imbalances by providing good and affordable education to the disadvantaged girls and those who are marginalized in the society.
  • To contribute towards the building up of enlightened, ethical, morally responsible and well qualified human resources in the country and Africa at large.

OWNERSHIP, MANAGEMENT AND INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK

The school is owned and managed by St. VERITAS Education and Development Foundation. This is non -religious non-profit organisation- limited by guarantee and without share capital .
It was registered in the United Republic of Tanzania in 2004. The Foundation has five (5) directors, all bent to help the neighbouring community and Tanzania  as a whole in the provision of quality and affordable education particularly to the disadvantaged including girls. Most of the directors in the Foundation are qualified in the field of either education or health.

They have sacrificed their resources in terms of time as well as materials to support the project and to ensure establishment and development of this school.

St Veritas Education and Development Foundation  is the major financier of the school. Since its inception, the school has been getting support from parents and well wishers inside and outside the country.
The school management and the entire school operations are managed by a team of local teachers and administrative personnel supervised by the Manager and Head Teacher appointed by the School Committee. The school committee is appointed by the Board of Directors of St. VERITAS Education and Development Foundation.

ESTABLISHMENT AND LOCATION

VERITAS Extended School was established on 18th  January, 2005. It was officially registered by the Ministry Education and Technical Training in Tanzania (East Africa) on 25th September 2007 after operating with a provisional registration from 12th July 2005. 
The school is mixed (boys and girls) and it is both day and boarding. It is situated at Kimara Ward in Kinondoni Municipality some 14 kilometres to the west from the Dar es salaam city centre. It specifically stands on Plot No 2013/1 Block “B”,Kimara.It stands near Karume Bridge, about one kilometre from Kimara Mwisho, just along Kimara-Bonyokwa road that leads to Segerea .

It is occupying some 5 acres, surveyed and non surveyed. The entire plot is  covered by green natural and planted, shade and fruit trees of coconut, mango and other vegetations.

The school  started with six (6) pupils in both nursery and primary sections in January, 2005.The number grew to 45 towards the end of 2005.Today (December,2008) it has grown to Grade/Standard Five with 291 pupils in both nursery and primary schools.
